First Time Ko

I have been wanting to experience it..imagining it as one of my dream dates...wishing I could beat the hell out of my date...dreaming that one day I will swipe that card through the slot.

It is not casino, baby.

I have been wanting all my adult life to play at Timezone. I love killing the zombies at the House of the Dead or shooting both the cops and civilians in Time Cop. Pretty mababaw but I get intimated most of the time whenever I get a chance to go and actually play there. Heaven knows how many times I acquired those free Timezone games by watching movies at the Ayala cinemas but I never availed any one of them.

And then, last weekend (actually 2 Sundays ago na)...while eating out at Bacolod Chicken at Robinson's East, I happened to glance at the newly opened stored that replaced Dimensione. Aha! It is Timezone! Shirl and I decided to try it out. I know that there is a card pero sa pagkasuper ignoramus, we asked around where we can acquire that Powercard that looks like an ATM machine. (I am used to Glico's tokens, btw). So, off we bought that 200 Powercard and played that UFO catcher which shirl has fond memories that include a stuff toy (aka elemini) and the one who got the toy for her. Syempre, I only got a couple of candies. Hehehe

Then, we sang our hearts out at the Music Zone. Enjoy! I got to sing sad songs with some Jap pop groups in the background. Pretty distracting. I got mostly 70s in my first few tries. Shirl was in her usual perfect 100% score, and 90+. Kinareer talaga!

We played air hockey...with the scoreboard actually working! Yes. It was fun. I played this with someone else a long time ago and I have been wanting to play it again. A lot of kids were looking at us (probably thinking, "Sino 'tong dalawang isip bata na ito?" or "When are they going to finish the game?") Pasalamat ang mga kids, the game was a bit expensive so we decided to try car racing. That game only showed that I might be a bad driver. Hehehe. Good thing that it is only a game or else, I am jailed for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage of properties. Hehehe

It was fun, fun, fun. I'll load up that card pretty soon. That's for sure.

Sleeping Beauty

Lately, I have been struggling to stay awake til 11 PM. No kidding! I am having a hard time staying awake even after guzzling a few cups of green tea. Obviously, I am immuned to the effects of tea.

I tried watching Kim Sam Soon...but after a few gaps, I had to excuse myself already.
I did try watching a movie but ended up sleeping on the couch.
I did some bead works one night, but was too tamad and too dark to insert the string to the pearl's holes.
I ate a Gonut donut and drank some tea but ended up too sleepy afterwards.
Sleepyhead.

A friend of long time ago from down under used to tell me that I might need a lot of iron. Eat red meat, ikanga. I had this habit a few years ago pa pala and it just resurfaced lately after my "online" mode for a few years...ho humm...

Seems like I am living up to my alter ego's name.

Bukas na ang Summer!

coke doesn't have to stress it.
***
Every sunday, between the shows of Will and Grace and F (now reformatted to Us Girls), Shirl and I do our "must-do or else laging tayong late dahil namalantsa pa" Sunday chore, that is ironing out clothes for the next 7 days. Given any Sunday, we can still manage to drink hot tea while doing the pamamalantsa. Folding the clothes with the fan at #1 and the main door closed. But last night, the door was open. so were the windows. The fan at at # 2 and I was drinking cold tea instead of the steaming green chai. And I was sweating profusely and my head hurts. Mainit na nga. Welcome, tag-araw sa gabi.
***
Starting yesterday, my besty and I promised that we will start walking for fitness. It is the beach season once again. We have to don our suits pang-beach for the next two...err..twelve months. hahaha. It is always summer for us. Puerto Galera is just 4 hours away. and Coron, Palawan is just a sleep away.
***
I am planning to save for this Coron thing. But I doubt it. Or probably, save some more and enjoy the tarsiers in Bohol. Probably, during the off peak.
***
A few weeks ago, Shirl and I were so excited in trippin' to Bantayan Island in Cebu but the plan went kaput! We had it all planned, pati sasakyan from Cebu City to the uppermost part of Cebu. Then, our skeds were not that accommodating and our moolah. Badtrippin'
***
One of the signs of summer here at the office is the memo that we can now not wear our uniforms for the next two months. Yipee! At least, I won't be stopping traffic for the next two months.

Take out those 2 pc suits, apply SPF45 on your bod and soak up the sun.

Felices Cumpleaños

It has been almost a week after I turned 29. Nothing heartstopping that happened last Tuesday. I had a very morning call from besty (short for bestest friend) Shirly greeting me...make that dawn call from her. I don't mind though, since I was wide awake and listening to some girl singing at the lounge of Hyatt while drinking a margarita. Sossy kanyo? nah, it was an advance birthday treat from my bossing. Lucky me.

After Shirl's call, I waited who was the next in rank..hmmm...i Think it was Alex, followed by the couple Pam and Elmer, Kathy, Thea...etcetera..etcetera.

I was a busy day actually because it was the first day of the Asia FLEG Meeting. I was in a frenzy along with my "team mates" of the DENR Core Group. Good thing, we checked in the hotel 2 days erlier to prepare everything (minute details, for one) lest, we had sleepless nights like what happened in Cebu.

I had a sumptuous breakfast for one...courtesy of the buffet breakfast, syempre. I don't really remember what I put in my mouth except for bread and cheese and drank a pot of tea. Lunch was a chili with noodles (errr, noodles with lots of chili) and veggie lasagna and dinner was...buffet! It was Jap, Chinese with lots of bread. hehehe No wonder, I am a bit heavier lately.

Funny it seems that a few days before my birthday...I was in this.."my god, i am turning 29?!" mode. Did I accomplish anything in my 4 years and a quarter-century ( ?) existence in this world? I think I contributed a dozen and more ka-emotans, a few laughters and incidents to laugh about. Nothing like save the whale kind of thing but more of, "tara, pose tayo doon!"

Lampas kalendaryo age ko but it is not very obvious. It seems that for the last 2 years, I am having the time of my life, it's as if I just turned 21 (gasp!). A few winks ago, I coerced Shirly to color our hair (our crowning glory are now 2 different shades of mahogany), frequented Puero Galera (every quarter visit?), done the tourist thing in Manila (Celdran Tours, we'll be signing up soon!) and a lot more!

My birthday celebration is not yet done. It is actually just starting. Brace yourself.

Happy birthday to me.

GUPPY woes

It’s one of those days when I just want to lie around, laze around, doing nothing. Maybe I need to take a much longer vacation from work. Burnout, they say. Maybe that’s what I’m feeling right now. I’m still in my post-GWBall mortem, but here I am loaded again with tons of new work, new projects. My bosses are sometimes mean. No rest for the weary, they usually say. Is it worth all of this? Will AAP cease to exist if I don’t work for an hour or so in one workday? I don’t think so.
Still contemplating about my future. Come what may na lang kaya talaga? Still have to work on my passport to pursue that elusive dream – a trip abroad, whether for leisure or greener pastures. I always have this feeling nowadays, feeling restless, and just want to be somewhere rather than in my lowly cubicle, somewhere in Legaspi Village. I need to go somewhere, not only PG but maybe farther than that.
I’m again blabbing too much, and my stomach is having hunger pangs, my lunch alarm – gotta grab lunch soon.
Well, the agony of being an unappreciated GUPPY* is tearing me out today.
Happy working everybody!

29 is the new 18!

29 is the new 18! And that's what we want to declare!
She's turning 29 today, magkaedad na naman ulit kami.
I'm so bad in writing a very poetic blog. She's good at that, and I think our blog site is a showcase of her writing talent. Pwede pang-Mass Comm, hehehe. She's an all-around creative genius: a writer - especially mga pang-emote; beads expert; interior decorator, wardrobe designer, etc. etc. And of course, she's always the cum-laude UPSE grad and a math whiz. She's good at trivia games, and beats me in talking non-stop about everything and anything.
She's always the sunshine to my gloomy days, the hope in my sometimes hopeless (and still non-existent) lovelife - laging nyang sabi, Bakit, gusto mo ba ng boyfriend na ganon?? She's the lil sis I never had, the bestest friend one can hope for. She's always smiling, as all her Friendster testimonials would say. Too bad, she's not home to celebrate her bday (She's away for a stay-in international conference sa Manila), but here's my lowly tribute to her:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BESTEST FRIEND!
Here's to more DVD's to collect, Divi trips, pillow talks, boylet/s bashing/emoting, malls to go to, and out-of-town (and even out-of-the-country) road trips to us.
Thanks for being the best for me!
